Director of international affairs at the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences
F.J.G. (Erik) van de Linde (1954) joined the staff of the academy in November 2011 to head its department for scientific advice. In the spring of 2016 he became director of international affairs of the academy, tasked to support the board, the members of the academy as well as the general director in realizing an optimal contribution of the academy to national, European and international evidence based policy making.
Previous activities were private innovation management consultancy (2004-2011), policy advisor to the Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research and Director of the Netherlands Technology Foundation (NWO, 2002-2004), research leader at RAND Europe (2000-2002), director of the Netherlands Study Center for Technology Trends (1995-2000), Science & Technology Attaché at the Netherlands Embassy in Washington DC and researcher at the Human Factors Research institute of the Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research (TNO, 1981-2000).
Erik received his M.Sc. in biology at the State University of Groningen, cum laude, in 1980.
